Good game but....

I wish you can change the computers nation along with zoom in and out button so you would be able to see your nation more clearly. Also have a custom game place a nation and yours any where and how powerful each computer is and how aggressive they all are our how much the want peace to research to destroy his enemy. And also make the population limit go above 500 it wont work on iPhone 5.

Great app

More units and multiplayer would be great too. As someone else said infantry seems like a good idea, but I dont think it would play out very well.

Top 3 favorite iPhone games of All Time

Enough said.

Good

THE prime RTS for iOS gamers!

This is my first app review, ever, but I felt it was worth it for the epicness provided by LASW. Where do I start? For a buck it will easily become your favorite iOS app if you have even a passing interest in RTS games. The gameplay is excellent, reminiscent of Supreme Commander, the terrain is beautiful, the procedurally generated maps are a plus, and the unit choice is nothing to sniff at. Also, the dev, or at least the person on the other end of isotopes email help line said that Machines at War 3 will be coming soon to iOS devices as well, and that it will have multiplayer. That does, unfortunately, lead me into the part of the app that I dont quite like so much. No app is perfect, and LASW is no exception, despite how pretty it is. I would say no multiplayer support is my biggest gripe. Especially since after a while the bots become easy to beat unless you start giving them bonuses. But, MaW 3 is coming, and like I said above, that is supposed to have multiplayer, so I will wait on that and see. Secondly, the terrain is too flat. Everything is pretty, but there are no mountains, hills, valleys, or anything, really. And I can understand how hard something like that is to add, especially when youre going with procedurally generated maps, but it does break realism somewhat. Thirdly, player colors (or lack thereof) is something of a sticking point for me. The interface for choosing payer color, while basing it on world nations gives it sort of a "Monday Night Combat" feel to it, and thats a positive, the interface itself is somewhat hard to discern...perhaps a suggestion would be to highlight each nation with the color you will be if you choose said nation. And then, I think my last negative point would have to be on unit behavior and path finding. Again, two of the most complex parts of an RTS, so I am sympathetic, but a review is to comment on good and bad, so here goes. The path finding needs some work. Units, when clumped, tend to get stuck and then just stall out, unsure of where to go. This is particularly noticeable with land units, if you move them in a group or if they encounter a structure, its not uncommon to see a dozen or so tanks in that column of twenty you just dispatched sitting around, twiddling their thumbs. Then, secondly, as mentioned by another reviewer, there doesnt really seem to be a whole lot of unit autonomy, forcing a lot of micromanagement. This could be mitigated somewhat by having some kind of intermediate zoom function, without necessitating going clear back to the strategic map to get a view of the battlefield, but as mentioned, its frustrating to see a gaggle of Newts sitting around some damaged units, not repairing them, or to see a squad of tanks not attacking the power plants, because they dont register high enough on their threat priorities. However, this in no way detracts from the whole of the game. For RTS on a tablet or other portable device, it is simply unparalleled. As a SupCom player, I admit I am somewhat picky when it comes to my RTSs...I like things big, and I like combined arms, and not many RTSs in the PC can boast that, much less on a tablet. Seeing a wing of Raptors come take out that gunship that was harassing your Spec Mine while you send a fleet of destroyers to do the same to your enemy is a thing of beauty. A column of tanks rolling inexorably towards the enemy stronghold is frightening if youre on the receiving end, and absolutely glorious if you sent them yourself. Everything about this game screams awesome, from the way you tech up, to the sheer scale of it all. So in conclusion, LASW is a must have for any strategy gamer, heck, any gamer, period. You will NOT be disappointed. Have I said how awesome it is enough yet? :-P EDIT: As an addendum, I must comment on how amazing the AI is. I didnt think that it was very challenging, but thats because I had yet to fully explore the difficulty levels. In the Robotic level with a bit of a bonus, even as low as 10%, I found that a four-way battle went from taking around an hour to over four hours in length! Attacks and counter attacks were flying all across the map and it was almost impossible to get a steady base established because the AI harassment was absolutely ridiculous. Ive said it before and Ill say it again; if youre looking for an RTS to sate your addiction on a tablet or mobile device, LASW is the game for you, and when MaW3 comes out with multiplayer, it will easily become the top game on iOS devices everywhere.

Just like Total Annihilation for PC

I had flashbacks of playing Total Annihilation, the game that Supreme Commander was born from. Controls are pretty good so that playing the game does not end in rage quit. It is actually very fun to play. 1-hour campaigns fly by. The only downside is that there is no campaign mode, only randomized skirmishes. I dont mind, but some people might want some kind of story. Build up the nuke and watch the glow!

hey!!!!!!

best war game in iphone history except machines at war 3 is the exact same thing but online!!! buy it now!!! it needs more ppl!! an this is nothing like dumb starcraft this is 100xs better in everyway.

Lasw

One of the best games Ive ever played on the iphone

Good game but really need multiplayer

You should put at least multiplayer and lots of people will love this game and better graphics but in tell then it will stay a three and I will tell all my friend to download it if you make this update

LASW

This game is awesome!! Some suggestions would be multiplayer and I think in real life nukes leave radiation so each ICBM launched should leave a radiation cloud also where it blew up Another ideah would be a zombie team or Weopon that makes zombie hoards to attack vehicles and possibly infantry

LOVE IT!!

Should add some ground units like soldiers. And more controls, Maybe even zoom

Its good but doesnt change when I put mutators to normal

When I put the mutators in the game to normal it stills makes me only use specific units

Great RTS

This is a great rts, with lots of units and abilities, i dont think i will ever delete this game. I am totally going to buy the second one!

Get this game.

First off i want to say it is very rare i write reviews for ios games because quite simply most of them are not very good. I was very skeptical when i saw this game mainly because it is rare that i find a game where I feel that all the rts elements work well together. After i started playing however all my doubt went away. This is truly an amazing game. When you first start it up it may look like an older version of pc fallout or some other old strategy game but after you start playing thats the last thing you think of. The way this game runs is perfect. It has a very simple defensive/offensive system so if you prefer to lay and wait for your opponent or rush right in and obliterate them you can do pretty much whatever tactic suits you best. The units at your disposal never seem to over powered until you start building bigger and better things that your enemy may not have. The matches are great with being so varied and randomized and i can honestly say this is a game that never began to feel boring. Quite simply I highly suggest getting this game. It is more than worth the .99 cents and it you are a true rts/strategy fan you wont regret this purchase.

Very Good, Do yourself a favor

Do yourself a favor and get this game. Good game. I do however have a problemo. It isnt really hard to win. I have tried everything to make the AI very difficult I would really appreciate huge bonuses given to the AI because it is no fun when youre completely slaughtering them on robotic and they dont even use all their troops to attack back I have seen some in the back hiding in a force field a couple of inches (iPhone screen length) from their base. I never even got nuked when on robotic I even purposely didnt buy the illuminati middle defense. Although it is an amazing game. I love to play it.

Why no sound button?

iPod music compatible? Yeah whatever. You cant hear anything over all the sound effects they didnt give an option to turn off.

Needs Multiplayer

Thats It. And Minor Control Fixes

The best RTS on iPhone

For fans of Total Annihilation, Supreme Commander, etc, this is the best RTS available. I love this game. The only thing I would very much like to see is support for third-party add-on units like Cavedog supported in TA. TA still has a strong community 17 years after release. Can you imagine an iPhone app pulling of the same feat? LASW could very well do it.

Closest game to C&C, AoE

Better than command and conquer on an Xbox. Little too easy to add units to groups. Warning.. May loose track of hours/minutes
